US does not believe Ukraine nuclear power plant should be militarized 'in any way whatsoever': John Kirby

NSC Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said that the United States does not think that Ukraine's nuclear power plant "should be militarized in any way whatsoever" Wednesday on " Your World ." UKRAINE NUCLEAR PLANT WORKER SAYS RUSSIA EVACUATED ITS PERSONNEL AHEAD OF ATTACKS ON ZAPORIZHZHIA JOHN KIRBY: As of this morning, Neil, our assessment was that the plant was operational - not all the reactors, but at least some of them. That it's Ukrainian technical workers [who] are actually on the controls. But clearly, the plant has been for many months now in Russian military control. And as we've said very clearly, we don't think that a nuclear power plant should be militarized in any way whatsoever. And we don't want military operations conducted from or near that nuclear power plant . Which is why, again, it's so important to get these inspectors from the IAEA in there so that we can get a little bit better readout on how that p...

Germany sending warships to Indo-Pacific as tensions with China escalate: report

German General Eberhard Zorn said Wednesday the Bundeswehr will send warships to the Indo-Pacific and join allies in drills as China ramps up operations around Taiwan.  "We do not want to provoke anyone with our presence but rather send a strong sign of solidarity with our allies," Zorn told Reuters. "We stand for the freedom of navigation and the safeguarding of international norms." Germany, which has been frugal on military spending in the second half of the 20th century, pledged to hike defense spending above 2% of its total GDP in February after Russia invaded Ukraine.  Chancellor Olaf Scholz said last week that Germany's own stock of arms is depleted due to sending weapons to Ukraine, but pledged Monday to support Kyiv for "as long as it takes."  SEN. Rays' ace hits IL after bullpen session goes wrong before start

The Tampa Bay Rays placed their ace, left-hander Shane McClanahan, on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left shoulder impingement.  McClanahan was scheduled to start Tuesday night, but his bullpen session in preparation for his outing didn’t go as planned.  The 25-year-old, who was named an All-Star in only his second season with the Rays, was noticeably frustrated as his bullpen session ended.  The Rays had to go with a bullpen game instead, starting Shawn Armstrong, and manager Kevin Cash worked his bullpen from there.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM McClanahan was relieved the diagnosis wasn't more serious.  "We made the right decision yesterday," he said via Bally Sports Florida. "It was a sigh of relief. I’m already itching to get back. I was out in the field today running sprints." McClanahan is an American League Cy Young candidate, owning a 2.20 ERA over his 24 starts (147.1 innings), which is good for fourth in MLB an...

Judge Jeanine: DOJ doesn't have to charge Trump to affect the election

Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro reacted to the Department of Justice's motion to block former President Donald Trump's request for a special master on " Jesse Watters Primetime ," deeming it "another witch hunt." JUDGE JEANINE: If you're not convinced this is just another witch hunt, well, new reports say the DOJ is waiting past the midterms to reveal any Trump charges . This is a blatantly political move. The DOJ has a policy of not bringing charges against political figures so close to an election, but they don't have to charge Trump in order to affect the election. Duke volleyball player's racial slur allegation receives pushback from witnesses: report

Witnesses have reportedly come forward saying no racial slurs were heard during the BYU-Duke women’s volleyball match last Friday, in which Duke’s Rachel Richardson , the only Black starter for the Blue Devils, said she was heckled throughout "the entirety of the match." Richardson said in a statement that BYU officials were not quick enough to address the situation upon the initial grievance from the Duke bench. BYU noted that the fan, who the Salt Lake Tribune said was a Utah Valley University student sitting in the student section, was banned from all athletic venues on campus.  The BYU Cougar Chronicle — a conservative-leaning student newspaper at the university — said "a source inside the BYU athletic department" said: "Ms. Richardson complained of hearing a racial slur during the second set but didn’t not point anyone out. Officials discussed briefly and stationed policemen there…there were no more complaints until after the match." CLICK HERE F...

North Carolina city council fires town manager one month after entire police department resigned

The Kenley City Council voted to fire its recently-hired town manager on Tuesday, about one month after the entire police department for the 2,400-person North Carolina town resigned, citing increased stress and a hostile work environment for their decision.  Justine Jones beat a field of 30 candidates to become the new town manager in June. The Kenley City Council cited her 16-year career in public service at the time with local governments in Minnesota, Virginia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, saying Jones was their "unanimous choice."  About two months later in late July, all five police officers and two town clerks suddenly resigned from their positions .  MISSOURI CITY POLICE CHIEF 'UNEXPECTEDLY' RESIGNS ALONG WITH EVERY SINGLE OFFICER "In my 21 years at the Kenly Police Department, we have seen ups and downs. I was there behind him with the signing pin, and he flip-flopped."  Florida Democratic gubernatorial nominee Charlie Crist has selected the president of the Miami-Dade County teachers union to be his running mate, placing education at the forefront of his campaign as he seeks to defeat incumbent GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis in November. United Teachers of Dade President Karla Hernandez-Mats was announced as Crist’s running mate on Saturday during a campaign event held in Miami. Biden pledges more gun control, funding for police in ‘Safer America Plan’ during Pennsylvania speech

President Biden appeared at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania Tuesday to roll out his "Safer America Plan" to tackle crime in the U.S. After warming up the crowd, the president invoked the simpler times of his childhood, when families didn’t have to worry about crime or drugs on the street.  "Too many families (today) haven't had that peace of mind. They watch the news. They see kids being gunned down in schools and on the streets almost every single night. You turn the news on, that's what you see," Biden said.  He added: "They see their neighbors lose their loved   ones to drugs like fentanyl . They see hate and anger and violence just walking the streets of America, and they just want to feel safe again. They want to feel a sense of security. And that's what my crime plan is all about."  Fentanyl has been flooding into the United States across the U.S-Mexico border since Biden took office and moved to rescind many Trump-era policies. Washington Post's Dave Weigel leaving paper this year for digital media start-up Semafor

Political reporter Dave Weigel is leaving the Washington Post to join the news start-up Semafor, Fox News Digital has confirmed. A source familiar with the situation said Weigel would join Semafor – the brainchild of journalists Ben Smith and Justin Smith with lofty ambitions – after the 2022 midterms. He exits the Post after he was part of one of their many internal dramas this year. Weigel is a well-known political reporter in Washington, but he made headlines for other reasons in June when the Post slapped him with a stunning, one-month suspension for retweeting a joke that mocked women. Weigel swiftly apologized at the time and deleted it, but his then-Washington Post colleague Felicia Sonmez, who initially drew attention to retweet, continued lambasting him on Twitter as well as other Post colleagues who pushed back at her tweetstorm. That touched off a bizarre saga at the paper that ultimately led to Sonmez's firing as she repeatedly, publicly roasted the newspaper and it...

Biden turns PA policy speech into political event, urges audience to vote for slate of Democrat candidates

President Biden traveled to Pennsylvania on Tuesday to hold an event to tout his "Safer America" agenda and his administration's policies surrounding support for law enforcement and crime, but instead shifted his tone and attacked Republicans as he urged those in attendance to vote for Democratic candidates running for positions in the Keystone State. Shortly after taking the stage, Biden touted two prominent Democrats running for positions in Pennsylvania , the first being Attorney General Josh Shapiro, who is running to serve as the state's next governor, and the second being John Fetterman, the state's Democratic nominee for Senate. "Josh Shapiro is a champion for the rule of law as your attorney general and he's going to make one hell of a governor," Biden said to applause. "I really mean it." Prior to the event, Biden said he spoke with Fetterman, a man he considered to be a "powerful voice." BIDEN TO SPOTLIGHT FIGHT TO ...

‘Gutfeld!’ makes history, unseats Stephen Colbert new king of late-night television

Greg Gutfeld is the new king of late-night television, marking the first time in history that a cable program achieved the lofty benchmark of most-watched late-night show for an entire month as "Gutfeld!" finished August atop all competitors.  "Gutfeld!" averaged 2.19 million viewers to defeat CBS’ "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," which averaged 2.15 viewers. It was the first month since January 2017 that Colbert didn’t finish as the No. 1 late-night program between broadcast and cable.  August was the most-watched month for "Gutfeld!" since it launched in April 2021, as the Fox News program also outdrew ABC’s "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," NBC’s "Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon" and Comedy Central’s "The Daily Show."  GREG GUTFELD: THE LEFT WILL LITERALLY CALL ANYTHING RACIST "Gutfeld!" more than doubled the average audience for CNN’s most-watched show, as "Anderson Cooper 360" averaged only...

MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle praises Dems finally 'fighting like Republicans' on student loan handouts

MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle praised Democrats for "fighting" back and "shaming" Republicans in light of the student debt handout plan announced by President Biden last Wednesday. Monday’s "The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle" featured a segment opening with a clip of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declaring on ABC in February that the Democrats "have decided to win and that’s what we’re going to do." Ruhle suggested that the latest move by Biden to handout $10,000 of student loan debt for holders earning under $125,000 per year is the Democrats finally choosing to win. "Democrats are doing something many voters have been begging for, for quite a while. They are fighting like Republicans. Take the recent GOP criticism of the Biden Administration's student debt relief. Republican lawmakers were all over social media complaining the relief was for elites, it was reckless, it was unfair," Ruhle said. PAUL KRUGMAN ARGUES ‘STUDENT DEBT RELIEF...

Ibram X. Kendi blasts John McWhorter for op-ed insisting standardized tests aren’t racist: 'An embarrassment'

University professor and critical race theory advocate Ibram X. Kendi attacked an attempt to defend standardized testing by a New York Times opinion writer on his Twitter account Sunday. Kendi argued that the newsletter op-ed, penned by Black linguist John McWhorter, was a "merry-go-round of denial" that attacked Black citizens while claiming to defend them. "John McWhorter rejects the notion: when Black folk get lower standardized test scores, either the tests are racist or something is wrong w/ Black folk. Calls this ‘an artificially narrowed realm of choices.’ Then he explains what's wrong w/ Black folk," Kendi tweeted. McWhorter’s piece specifically argued against the notion that discrepancies in standardized test scores are due to racial bias. He further explained that the real difference comes from community discrepancies between middle class and working-class people in both Black and White populations. Protesters gather outside US Open to call for an end to vaccine travel mandates

A group of protesters gathered outside the U.S. Open entry gates at Flushing Meadows in Queens, New York, on Monday to call for an end to vaccine mandates for travelers after 21-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic , who is unvaccinated against COVID-19, announced last week that he would not be able to participate in the tournament. CNN’s outgoing ‘New Day’ continues to struggle as morning show makeover looms

CNN’s soon-to-be "re-imagined" morning show is struggling to attract viewers with major changes on the horizon.  A revamped morning show is expected in place of the current version of "New Day," before the end of the year, but the existing edition isn’t exactly going out on top. "New Day" has averaged a dismal 398,000 total viewers during the month of August, compared to 1.3 million for Fox News’ time slot competition "FOX & Friends." "New Day" has also struggled among the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults age 25-54, averaging only 80,000 each morning compared to 212,000 for "FOX & Friends." The poor August turnout is an improvement from the disappointing program’s quarter-to-date viewership.  REP. US government can’t force Christian groups to perform abortions, gender reassignment surgery, court rules

The federal government cannot force Christian medical organizations to perform abortions or gender transition surgeries under the Affordable Care Act, a federal appeals court ruled Friday.  In a unanimous ruling, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court’s permanent order shielding the Christian groups from anti-discrimination lawsuits under a provision known as Section 1557 in the ACA.  Those groups in the lawsuit were Christian Medical and Dental Associations , Specialty Physicians of Illinois, and Catholic hospital system Franciscan Alliance Inc. Each said performing an abortion or gender reassignment surgery would violate their religious freedoms.  The judges wrote that the providers faced harm because the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had "repeatedly refused to disavow enforcement" against them.  CNN, NBC PANELS ON GOP MIDTERM ROE V. Brittany Aldean’s comments on gender are praised and bashed by stars

Country music and famous political commentators are embroiled in a battle of words in the aftermath of Brittany Aldean's message in which she thanked her parents for "not changing" her gender when she enjoyed a "tomboy phase" in her youth. The controversy, which predominantly surrounded what some believe to be hateful and transphobic comments by Aldean, caught the attention of two female country music stars, Marren Morris and Cassadee Pope.  Aldean, who is married to Grammy-nominated singer Jason Aldean, doubled down when she was met with criticism from Pope, sharing to her Instagram story, "Advocating for the genital mutilation of children under the disguise of love and calling it ‘gender affirming care,’ is one of the worst evils. I will always support my children and do what I can do protect their innocence." Originally, Pope and Morris took to their Twitter's to share their distaste of Aldean's comments. Pope questioned why a beauty-own...

Melting 'zombie ice' in Greenland could cause ocean levels to rise by 10 inches

Zombie ice from the massive Greenland ice sheet will eventually raise global sea level by at least 10 inches on its own, according to a study released Monday. Zombie or doomed ice is ice that is still attached to thicker areas of ice, but is no longer getting fed by those larger glaciers. That's because the parent glaciers are getting less replenishing snow. Meanwhile the doomed ice is melting from climate change, said study co-author William Colgan, a glaciologist at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland. "It’s dead ice. It’s just going to melt and disappear from the ice sheet," Colgan said in an interview. "This ice has been consigned to the ocean, regardless of what climate (emissions) scenario we take now." Study lead author Jason Box, a glaciologist at the Greenland survey, said it is "more like one foot in the grave." Drought-stricken Chinese cities finally get rain; floods cause evacuations

More than 100,000 people had moved to safer areas by Monday as heavy rains brought flood risks to a region of southwest China that was devastated by a heatwave and drought for most of the summer. Heavy rain was forecast for parts of Sichuan province and Chongqing city through at least Tuesday. Chongqing, a megacity built in a hilly area and that also oversees the surrounding mountains and countryside, issued a flash flood warning for both days. But China’s meteorological agency maintained a national orange alert for drought, the second highest level, as the heat persisted in many parts of the country's south, the official Xinhua News Agency said. It recommended strict water conservation and using emergency water sources to supply people and livestock. CHINA FLOODS LEAVE AT LEAST 12 DEAD, THOUSANDS EVACUATED The Sichuan emergency management administration said Monday that 119,000 people have been evacuated. Novak Djokovic, Kyrie Irving, Aaron Rodgers are modern day heirs of Muhammad Ali: Clay Travis

Social media, as we currently have experienced it in the COVID-19 era , mostly exists to police thought and insist on uniformity of opinion on all COVID issues. That’s been the overarching principle that has governed since March of 2020 in this country. The "experts" in science and medicine at the CDC and the NIH made a determination about what the COVID science was and then attempted to destroy anyone who challenged that consensus opinion by deploying their assets in the mainstream media. The government , in conjunction with major tech companies and the media, has colluded to censor anyone who has challenged the consensus opinion when it comes to masks, the safety of opening schools, whether lockdowns made sense, whether sports could be played, the efficacy of the COVID shot, and where COVID came from. We were told what an acceptable narrative was and then anyone who challenged that narrative was relentlessly attacked by powerful media interests and hammered by social media...
