University of Idaho murder victim's father says his daughter died ‘in the same bed’ as her best friend

Steve Goncalves, the father of University of Idaho murder victim Kaylee Goncalves, said the only solace he can find is that his daughter died in the same bed as Maddie Mogen, right by the side of her best friend for the past decade.  Mogen and Goncalves, both 21-year-old students, had been inseparable since the beginning of middle school.  "These girls were absolutely beautiful. They've been friends since sixth grade… Every day they did homework together, they came to our house together, they shared everything… They went to high school together, then they started looking at colleges and they came here together, they eventually get into the same apartment together," Steve Goncalves said at a vigil for the victims on Wednesday evening.  "And in the end, they died together, in the same room, in the same bed. And it's a shame, and it hurts. But the beauty of the two always being together is something that will – it comforts us, it lets us know that they were wit...

New DHS Disinfo Board documents reveal deep Big Tech collusion, contradict Mayorkas testimony: Sen. Hawley

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., on Wednesday revealed newly obtained documents that appeared to challenge DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ May testimony on the controversial Disinformation Governance Board.  In an open letter to Mayorkas, Hawley said the new documents expose that the Board’s plans to partner with Big Tech were "far more extensive" than DHS or the Biden administration has previously acknowledged. Hawley and Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, published documents obtained by a whistleblower earlier this year detailing the scope of the Board.  Hawley said the new documents show that the Board’s Steering Group met on Feb. 4, 2022 – and were meeting on a weekly basis – despite Mayorkas’ testimony on May 4, 2022, that "the board has not yet met."  DHS WARNS OF ‘HEIGHTENED THREAT ENVIRONMENT’ IN US AMID ‘POLITICAL TENSIONS’ The new documents further reveal, Hawley said, that Big Tech was more deeply involved in censorship activities than previously thought.  A...

Democrats racing to try and secure year-long budget deal before Republicans take control of the House

Congressional Democrats are racing to secure a year-long budget deal before Republicans take control of the House of Representatives in January. Democrats want a budget deal that would keep the government funded from Dec. 16, when current funding terminates, until the fall of 2023. The move would allow President Joe Biden's administration to fund pet initiatives while blocking the Republican House from exerting its influence immediately. "Government funding should rise above politics when the well-being of our troops and our national defense is on the line," said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer , D-N.Y., Monday on the Senate floor, noting the geopolitical threats posed by Russia and China. House Republicans take a different view. Some argue that since they won control of the chamber in the midterm elections , Congress should enact a short-term funding bill until January. The move would force Biden and Democrats, who narrowly retained control of the Senate in the m...
