Obama ripped for SCOTUS hot take after support for Virginia 'gerrymander'

Former President Barack Obama was lambasted for rebuking a new Supreme Court ruling against race-based redistricting in Louisiana, just days after cutting ads for a Virginia effort to transform that state's map into a 10-1 Democratic advantage. The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 against Louisiana's 2024 mid-decade redistricting that produced a serpentine district represented by Rep. Cleo Fields of Baton Rouge, calling it an "illegal" racial gerrymander, while Obama argued the decision weakened a Voting Rights Act provision prohibiting race-based discrimination. "Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities — so long as they do it under the guise of ‘partisanship’ rather than explicit ‘racial bias’," Obama said. "Unless it’s Virginia. In that case, it’s great to have a 10-1 gerrymand...

Patriots season-ticket holders give Mike Vrabel a standing ovation amid Dianna Russini controversy

While the rest of the world, both inside and outside the NFL, discusses and even debates the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini saga, it is apparent the coach continues to enjoy the support of some people who matter most: Such as Patriots owner Robert Kraft. And season-ticket holders. We know this because this week, even as scrutiny on the coach grew amid his Draft-day absence while he sought "counseling," the Patriots had Vrabel join an event for season-ticket holders. At that packed house event inside the atrium of Gillette Stadium, those season-ticket holders universally showed Vrabel love. They applauded for him. They even gave him a standing ovation when he was introduced. MIKE VRABEL BACK AT PATRIOTS FACILITY AFTER 'COUNSELING' DAYS OFF And that leaves us with a lot to unpack. The NFL has deferred all decisions regarding Vrabel and his relationship with Russini, a former reporter for The Athletic , to the Patriots. Commissioner Roger Goodell said nothing ...

Woman pleads guilty to paying for sexual torture videos involving monkeys for online group: 'Sick person'

A woman from Illinois is pleading guilty after paying thousands of dollars to have others make so-called "animal crush videos," which included depictions of adult and baby monkeys being mutilated and tortured for users in a deranged online chat group. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) sent out a press release Monday indicating Amanda Leigh Fourez, a U.S. citizen from Illinois, pleaded guilty earlier this month to distributing and conspiracy to create and distribute these sorts of videos.  The videos Fourez paid for included footage that showed the monkeys being burned alive, having their genitals mutilated and other atrocities, according to the press release. "Fourez paid thousands of dollars to commission bespoke sexual torture videos of monkeys and later she distributed the obscene crush videos over the Internet. Fourez archived and controlled the distribution of animal crush videos," the Department of Justice added in its press release. ICE BUSTS S...

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. — Texas authorities have arrested an illegal migrant from Honduras on a Greyhound bus headed toward the southern border in connection with the violent rape of a man behind a dumpster outside a New York restaurant, according to prosecutors. Jose Ignacio Bonilla Garcia, 32, first met the unnamed male victim in the deli, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney 's Office. WHCD shooting shows Dems are 'playing' with Americans' safety by withholding DHS funding, GOP lawmaker says

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., said Sunday that the shooting at the Washington Hilton during the White House Correspondents' Dinner underscored the need to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), arguing that law enforcement officers performed "flawlessly" despite uncertainty surrounding their paychecks. The congressman cast blame on Democrats for "refusing to fund some of the most important law enforcement officers in our country," like the Secret Service, TSA and Coast Guard, on "The Sunday Briefing." "This is a big, big deal that these Democrats are literally playing with the safety of Americans — by the way, Republican, Democrat and other, it doesn't matter what your political perspective is. It's about Americans' safety," he said. TRUMP PRAISED FOR 'STRENGTH' IN MOMENTS AFTER SHOTS RANG OUT AS EYEWITNESS DESCRIBES 'TERRIBLE' SCENE "The fact that [Secret Service] performed so fl...

CVS disputes Planned Parenthood ‘strategic partnership’ claim as report language changes; critics push back

CVS is disputing a Planned Parenthood claim of a "strategic partnership" on abortion pill access, as the organization’s website no longer includes language that previously referenced such a relationship. "The team that manages our Reproductive Health program is unaware of anything related to that organization beyond standard abortifacient dispensing for individuals with prescriptions," a CVS spokesperson told Fox News Digital. The company added that it "do[es] not have a formal partnership with Planned Parenthood of Greater New York beyond filling prescriptions." CVS added it did not indicate any agreement or coordination with Planned Parenthood beyond dispensing legally prescribed medication. Obama chooses supporter Stephen Colbert for debut interview at controversial presidential center

For his first televised interview from the controversial Obama Presidential Center, Barack Obama is turning to a familiar ally: Stephen Colbert . The sit-down comes just weeks before Colbert is set to exit late-night television after CBS and parent company Paramount canceled "The Late Show." Obama’s decision to sit down with Colbert, an adoring fan of the former president, drew derision from some conservative commentators. Colbert has long been a Democratic supporter, notably MCing a $26 million fundraiser for former presidents Joe Biden, Bill Clinton and Obama at Radio City Music Hall in 2024. The former president has appeared multiple times on Comedy Central’s "The Colbert Report" and "The Late Show." During a 2020 interview, Colbert told Obama he needed to "drink [Obama] in" because he missed seeing a real president. He also once cooed, "I miss you" to a clip of Obama on his show during Trump's first term. KIMMEL, COLBERT ...

Rep Tim Burchett convinced that aliens exist, says he's 'seen too much' in government briefings

Rep. Tim Burchett said during a Tuesday interview that he believes aliens exist, citing government briefings, pilot testimony and what he described as video and photographic evidence shown to him by officials. "We’ve seen too much. I’ve seen too much," Burchett said on "Piers Morgan Uncensored." "Not myself personally, but when I’ve been briefed by government officials, video, pictures. Some of the best-trained pilots in the world have described having close collisions with some sort of aircraft or apparatus, and so I think it’s time that they come clean." Burchett made the remarks after host Piers Morgan pressed him directly on whether he believes extraterrestrial life exists. "Yes, sir, I do," Burchett said. Democrat Adam Smith says Iran is 'closer to the truth' than the White House on ceasefire talks

A top Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee suggested Iran would be a more reliable source than the White House on peace talks, saying President Donald Trump "does not tell the truth." Rep. Adam Smith, D-Wash., made those remarks on MSNOW on Monday, just a couple of days before Trump's two-week ceasefire agreement was set to expire. On Tuesday, Trump extended the ceasefire, basing his decision on the Iranian government being "seriously fractured." Smith, who has been outspoken about the Trump administration's handling of the Iran war, told MSNOW's Ana Cabrera that Trump "just lies" and that he hasn't been honest about where negotiations are with Iran. Smith pointed to Trump saying over the weekend that Iran had "agreed on everything," referring to Trump's four-point objectives. But hours later, a spokesperson for Iran's foreign ministry released a statement that it will not be giving up its enriched uranium, o...

Six Americans were among those injured Monday when a gunman opened fire at Mexico's Teotihuacán pyramids, a popular tourist destination. Reporter's Notebook: House chaos sparks emergency FISA extension

"Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today," said Ben Franklin. If sloganeering was left to Congress, the motto might read, "Never do today what you can leave till tomorrow." That is emblematic of the recent scramble on Capitol Hill to renew the key terrorism prevention program known as FISA Section 702. Congress faced a deadline to re-up the program before 11:59:59 p.m. ET on April 20. Lawmakers fretted that it was risky to let the program expire. They worried that the U.S. may be vulnerable to a terrorist attack because of the war with Iran. President Donald Trump insisted that Republicans "UNIFY, and vote together" to pass an 18-month extension of FISA without any add-ons. The president argued that the FISA program was among "the reasons we have had such tremendous SUCCESS on the battlefield." So the House GOP brass planned to pass the 18-month FISA reauthorization last Wednesday. But it’s about the math. An eclectic alliance ...

Mamdani describes Trump relationship as 'honest' and 'direct' amid recent blowout

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani described his relationship with President Donald Trump as "honest and direct" despite the president's recent criticism against him. "I would say that it’s honest, it’s direct, and it’s productive," Mamdani said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "I'll keep the cadence of that between the two of us. Much of that is based on the premise of privacy, but I will say is that those conversations, no matter how they happen, they returned back to one thing, one of the few things that we have in common, which is our love for New York City and how to deliver for the same city." When asked if he could "trust" Trump, Mamdani remarked that it's part of conversations that "have to continue," though he credited the president for his efforts to help release a Columbia University student , Elmina "Ellie" Aghayeva, who was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Trump DOJ fires prosecutors tied to FACE Act cases after report alleges bias and misconduct

The Trump administration has fired multiple prosecutors who handled cases that resulted in prison sentences for pro-life activists under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, as the Justice Department moves to overhaul enforcement of the law. The Justice Department confirmed to Fox News Digital that four prosecutors tied to those cases were dismissed, following a CBS News report on the firings. The department’s rapid response account on X said the Justice Department "has terminated the employment of personnel responsible for weaponizing the FACE Act who still remained at the department." The personnel moves come after the Justice Department released a report Tuesday alleging the Biden administration "weaponized" federal law by selectively prosecuting pro-life activists under the FACE Act, which was designed to protect access to abortion clinics and pregnancy resource centers.
