High school trans athletes fighting Trump's executive order protecting girls' sports in court

The families of two transgender high school athletes in New Hampshire have added President Donald Trump's administration to a lawsuit challenging laws that prevent the athletes from competing in girls' sports.  The teenage plaintiffs, Parker Tirrell and Iris Turmelle, originally filed the lawsuit last year to challenge a current New Hampshire state law prohibiting trans athletes from participating in girls’ sports. On Wednesday, a federal judge granted a request to add the Trump administration to the list of defendants over the president's recent executive order.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM Trump signed the "No Men in Women's Sports" executive order on Feb. 5, which prohibited any federal funding for educational institutions that allow biological males to compete on women's or girls' sports teams.  New Hampshire was already one of 25 states with a law in place to enforce similar bans on trans inclusion, but Tirrell and Tur...

NYC official removes post supporting Trump's trans athlete order after 'guidance' from mayor's chief of staff

As some states have refused to comply with President Donald Trump's recent executive order that bans trans athletes in girls' and women's sports, New York is at an impasse over the issue.  The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) provided a statement to Fox News Digital saying it has advised schools to comply with current state law that allows trans athletes to compete with girls, but is gathering public input before making a final decision.  "While we await further clarification, I strongly advise that NYSPHSAA member schools continue to adhere to current New York state anti-discrimination laws, which allow students to participate on interscholastic teams that best align with their gender identity," NYSPHSAA Executive Director Dr. Robert J. Zayas said. "I am actively working with state officials to assess the implications of this executive order and determine appropriate next steps. Yesterday, I spoke with Dr. Betty Rosa, co...

Rare wildlife spotting caught on camera in Poland

Two unusual black wolves that are believed to be siblings, were caught on camera crossing a stream in a forest in Poland , according to a conservation organization. The rare sighting, which was captured on video last year, has prompted the SAVE Wildlife Conservation Fund Poland to retrieve scat droppings in the forest that the wolves were observed in, so scientists can learn more about the genetics of the black wolves. The Associated Press reported that the video camera was set up by Joanna Toczydlowska, a project coordinator with the wildlife organization, to study beavers. But she was surprised when she reviewed the recorded footage and saw wolves instead. She decided to leave the camera in place to learn more about the rare animals. COLORADO RANCHERS CALL ON OFFICIALS TO LETHALLY REMOVE WOLVES "It’s something new and unusual," Toczydlowska told the wire service. In one of the clips captured, a gray wolf and black wolf crossed a stream in the forest, though slowly as...

As authorities investigate what led a commuter plane carrying 10 people — nine passengers and a pilot — to crash, leaving no survivors off the coast of Alaska , two people aboard the turboprop aircraft have been identified. Rhone Baumgartner and Kameron Hartvigson boarded the flight to Nome after traveling to Unalakleet to work on a heat recovery system servicing the community’s water plant, according to the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, The Associated Press reported. The identities of the others killed in the crash have not yet been released. According to a Facebook post by the Nome Volunteer Fire Department, officials were using a break in the weather Saturday "to bring Bering Air passengers and crew home today." Hall of Fame voter says Eli Manning discussion was one of 'most contentious' ever among committee

Eli Manning came up short of Pro Football Hall of Fame induction on Thursday night, and as a matter of fact, he wasn't particularly close. Manning was not inside the top 10 of voting for this year's class, which features just four players : Jared Allen, Eric Allen, Antonio Gates and Sterling Sharpe. The New York Giants legend has been a polarizing figure for the Hall of Fame, even well before he retired. On the one hand, he was never an All-Pro or got an MVP vote. On the other hand, he's responsible for two of the greatest Super Bowl drives of all time, and he ranks 11th all time in passing yards and touchdowns. "I've been on the committee for 15 years. Other than the Terrell Owens conversation that we had for three years, this was the most contentious discussion tha...
